About Us

We have developed foodintol.com to be both educational and a support community for those with Food Intolerances and Food Allergies. There are six main issues we face and this is how we address them:

KNOWLEDGE

foodintol.com is your REFERENCE SITE. Your best defence is always knowledge:

  • Understand the effect certain foods have on your body
  • Find out what’s in the foods you are eating
  • Learn how to identify and manage food intolerance without drugs or therapies.

NEWS

We review scientific and medical findings continuously and publish them (with references) in an easy to understand format. There are always new discoveries being made.there are always new discoveries being made.

RESTAURANT DINING

  • Food Alert Card
We all love to eat at restaurants – safely. This can be difficult, frustrating and demoralising when restaurant staff don’t understand food intolerance. Use the handy Food Alert Card to fully communicate your needs to waiters and chefs when eating out.
  • International Cuisine
Like to eat out? In The Tuesday Club we rate international cuisines in the Gluten-free, Dairy-free, Fructose-free and Yeast-free categories.

SUPPORT AND CARE

Food Sensitivity is usually for life – you don’t get over it. We believe it is better to find ways to manage bloating, flatulence, diarrhea, skin problems and a wide spectrum of other symptoms by changing our diet and staying informed.

Members of The Tuesday Club learn how to manage their symptoms by using club resources.

The Tuesday Club provides a library of publications for members including diet journals, practical guides and reference titles. They have been created specifically to educate people on how to identify and manage food intolerance.

All member queries are answered via email within 24 hours by the foodintol® team.

Members can also choose to form support groups via the on the Club Forum.

DRIVING CHANGE

We want Healthcare Professionals to recognise and diagnose our symptoms more readily. Food intolerance in particular is not well understood in Australia. Understanding individual food intolerance, and its consequences fosters a heightened awareness of food sensitivity generally.

Our members need to have A VOICE with food manufacturers, major retailers and government for better, wider choices. One of the major objectives of foodintol® is to raise general awareness of food intolerance and its prevalence. An informed and vocal community will be more effective at bringing about change.

Deborah Manners – Chief Executive
B.Sc. (Hons) Grad. Dip. Ed.

I am not a doctor or a dietician. I am a consumer like you. And nine years ago found out I have multiple food intolerances.

I have a science qualification which I use to thoroughly research and write about food intolerance: information which is not available in one place anywhere else.

With the help of a very talented and dedicated team foodintol® has been created to be what I wanted all those years ago when I was searching for answers.

My Promise to You

  • Plain language education on food intolerance
  • Club Forum (in The Tuesday Club) for moral support
  • Simple step-by-step guides, strategies and recipes for identifying and managing food intolerance
  • Great value-for money with unlimited downloads and special offers
  • Continuously updated titles incorporating new research
  • Continuous expansion of member services

I suffered for years before finally piecing together information from the internet, doctors, scientific journals and books. In 1994 the fuzzy collection of symptoms I described to my doctor was not typical of anything.

It turned out I had multiple food intolerances - easy to diagnose and treat. . . but hardly ever suspected. And when you're not looking for something you hardly ever find it.

Finding my way through the maze of food types, advisors, unfamiliar ingredients, new terms and language, recipes and labelling laws was long and difficult.

But you don't have to do that. I have travelled the path for almost a decade and have written all the practical assistance you will need. It's so great to be healthy again by observing some simple, basic diet changes. And no drugs or therapies are needed!

These symptoms can really drag you down. Maybe not life-threatening - but certainly lifestyle threatening!

My food intolerance was actually holding me back physically, mentally and professionally.

Now I want to share the benefit of my nine years of research, trial-and-error, accumulated knowledge, diet tips and experiences.

All the hard work has been done for you. The information, recipes and step-by-step guides have been written specially to take you smoothly through the obstacle path of food intolerance. We keep the information up to date, easy to understand and useful.

I am highly gluten sensitive, lactose intolerant and allergic to milk protein and other allergens.
