Asthma, Chronic Cough and Bronchitis

Asthma, chronic cough and bronchitis are all consequences of systemic respiratory inflammation. All too frequently the cause of the inflammation is food sensitivity. However - food sensitivity is hardly ever recognised as the culprit - so all we do is relieve the symptoms with medication.

But if you can identify the Problem Food (Food Sensitivity) and substitute it for a better food - respiratory problems like coughing and asthma disappear permanently - without medications.

How common is Asthma and Chronic Cough?

Sometimes a Chronic Cough is actually Asthma which has not yet been diagnosed. Asthma is common - but it is also very under-diagnosed - so real rates are actually higher than reported in clinical studies.

In developed countries like the US, UK and Australia up to 20% (one in five) of young people have Asthma or Chronic Cough.

But prevalence of Asthma is much lower (~2%) in non-westernised countries like Indonesia and India. This suggests a causative role in the western diet - where "Modern Foods" like Dairy, Grains and Sugars are consumed heavily . . . this means food intolerance.

The rate of Asthma worldwide is increasing over time. Health organizations have found increased rates of 200% to 400% over the last three decades. The most dramatic increases occur when people move from a rice-based diet as in Asia to a more "western" wheat grain and dairy-based lifestyle.

What causes Asthma and Chronic Cough?

What are Asthma "Triggers"?

Many people blame "Triggers" for causing Asthma - like cat fur or horse hair or pollens from flowers. In truth these only tip you over the edge into an asthma attack if you already have an underlying level of inflammation in your body - as you would with food sensitivity.

When your immune system struggles constantly with some food you eat every day - it is always in a state of 'ready alert'. And when a "Trigger" comes along you go into a fit of coughing immediately. But you'll find when you avoid the Problem Food - you won't get the Asthma attacks or coughing fits any more. And neither will you contract bronchitis every winter.

Causes of Asthma and Coughing

Asthma and coughing are very commonly caused by undiagnosed and untreated food intolerances (food sensitivities) - particularly to certain proteins:

  • A major cause of asthma and bronchitis is Dairy intolerance - specifically casein allergy
  • Also - Yeast overgrowth in the body - or Yeast sensitivity can result in bronchial infections and Asthma
  • There is also the possibility of other food sensitivities like Gluten intolerance or others

If you have food intolerance but don't realise - eventually other symptoms will appear. That's why it's best to find out which one you have now. Up to three in four people have some type of food sensitivity.

How does food intolerance cause Chronic Cough and Asthma?

Food intolerance causes partially digested proteins (say from gluten, casein in milk and yeasts) to get into your bloodstream. These are not recognised as 'friendly' by your immune system. The immediate response is to set up inflammation in your body:

  • Inflammation at the joints causes stiffness and Arthritis
  • Inflammation at the skin can cause Hives, Eczema and Psoriasis
  • Inflammation in the lungs or nasal passages accumulates fluids and irritation: Asthma and cough

This is how food intolerance can lead to Asthma and Coughing! How to stop the inflammation and cure your Asthma?  . . . identify your Problem Food and substitute it for another great food.

What if I do nothing about my Bronchitis, Cough and Asthma?

You can choose to do nothing of course. But the source of the Asthma - your underlying food intolerance - will continue to impact your body and your health. First it leads to chronic symptoms (those you suffer every day of your life). But later they can develop into chronic disease - like inflammatory lung disease.

At foodintol®- we don't want that to happen - so we provide lots of free information for you to make informed decisions. To find out more - sign up for the Free E-book 'How to Tell If You Have Food Intolerance'

In reality - your Asthma is actually a valuable warning sign - like a Red Flag - that you will develop further symptoms later in life. It gives you a great opportunity to investigate before a more serious illness appears.

When will I be cured from Cough, Bronchitis and Asthma?

Because Asthma is usually caused by food intolerance - which is genetic - there is an easy cure. But it is not a pill or medicine or puffer inhalant.

It is a slightly changed diet. You find your food intolerance - and you eat to observe your food sensitivity . . . then no more Asthma. The best cure of all - is not medication - but good natural fresh foods which are safe for you and your food sensitivity.
