Elimination Diet - The Shrinking Menu 23 March 2008

A traditional Elimination Diet is very restrictive but now there is the Detection Diet – much easier and highly effective.

Getting rid of chronic ugly symptoms (like flatulence, stomach bloating, eczema, diarrhea, headache, vaginitis, mouth ulcers and many others) used to mean going on an Elimination Diet.

Janette from Queensland, on the Elimination Diet: "I need doctor's appointments every week and he's doing tests: blood tests, urine and stool tests. I have to take all these vitamins. Why is it all so complicated?

It's important to find out what's causing my symptoms - they are ruining my lifestyle. But the menu has shrunk. Hey, it's tough!"

A true Elimination Diet is a serious undertaking: being cut back to just lamb, rice and a few vegetables for three weeks is very tough. That's why we created The Detection Diet.

With the Elimination Diet you have to be under the care of a doctor or dietician. Your doctor will generally want to rule out other causes of your symptoms like infection or disease. And this usually requires tests of various sorts.

Nutrition is another important issue. Leaving so many foods out necessarily impacts the level of nutrients you can absorb from diet alone. Many professionals therefore prescribe vitamin supplements for the duration of the diet which can be weeks.

However, very few people need this kind of in-depth investigation. In reality Food Intolerance is so common that there would not be enough doctors to go around if we all used that kind of Elimination Diet. Dairy intolerance for instance is thought to affect 75% of people worldwide.

If your chronic symptoms are in the Symptoms Matrix (you must register first) then they may be caused by food intolerance. Check now.

The best and quickest way to identify your problem foods is to do the Detection Diet in The Tuesday Club.

It's easy to follow and except in the case of severe yeast infection, demands no medical supervision or drugs of any kind. The Detection Diet is about changing your diet slightly and methodically tracking your progress. You need a proper journal.

Intolerance to gluten, fructose, wheat, dairy, and yeast can be positively identified at home using some common sense and a well laid out journal. Use the Detection Diet 35 Day Journal in The Tuesday Club.

If you were ever to start something that would make your feel well and look great, which day would you choose?
