Wheat allergy (sensitivity) - the surprising facts 23 Sep 2009

"Your newsletters about how gluten can cause arthritis* are astonishing. The evidence is getting difficult to ignore. I'm going to start cutting back on wheat from today. How can I buy just the Wheat-free guide in The Tuesday Club? I don't need all the other stuff." Robert B. QLD Australia.

Hi Robert - Because we want you to get well and enjoy sustained good health - there are good reasons we don't provide Compleat Guides separately. Also, you may be making a very common mistake: Wheat intolerance is NOT the same as Gluten intolerance. Let me explain.

FOUR REASONS

1. Leaky Gut syndrome
If you do have a food intolerance, "cutting back" on a suspected food won't reduce your risk of arthritis or relieve your symptoms. Why? Because food intolerance is notoriously associated with intestinal malfunction known as "Leaky gut syndrome". . . even with tiny amounts of the problem food.

This means that a certain food (like Gluten or milk protein) has perforated the lining of your small intestine - making tiny holes. Now foreign things (like allergens and bacteria) can get into your bloodstream where they are delivered to all other parts of your body. References from medical journals

Scary stuff. Then your immune system picks up on the foreign substances even with tiny amounts - setting your body on 'alert' continuously.

That means you are now more sensitive all the time. And things that would only have given you mild discomfort (like dust or smog) can get amplified into coughing fits, headaches or skin rashes.

These are symptoms we don't take very seriously: migraines, weight gain, sinus pain, skin outbreaks, mood swings, mouth ulcers, tinea, thrush, constant tiredness and reduced resistance to infections. Basically we just take over-the-counter medications and don't investigate.

And that's why 'cutting back' is not enough. You have to avoid that food completely. And with thousands of foods available - you need a comprehensive guide to the foods you can eat safely: like the Compleat Guide series in The Tuesday Club.

2. It must be a positive identification
Robert, don't guess! And don't go on a 'hunch'. You don't know for sure that wheat is your problem, do you? Aren't you just guessing from what you've read or heard? (Remember Wheat-free is NOT the same as Gluten-free).

Let's say you made the effort of changing your diet to Wheat-free - and then discovered you still had symptoms. It would have been a complete waste of time - wouldnt it? Difference between Wheat intolerance and Gluten intolerance

Before changing anything, you should see your doctor to rule out other illness. Then you need a positive ID of which is your Problem Food. And the best way to do that is The Tuesday Club's Detection Diet. It's easy, fun and carries a MONEY-BACK guarantee.

Once you have identified your problem food(s) - using the Detection Diet THEN change your eating habits. Makes sense doesn't it?

3. You could be sensitive to more than one food
Another reason we don't sell the Compleat Guides separately: Sensitive people often have more than one food intolerance. For example many Gluten intolerant people are also sensitive to Dairy or Fructose. But you won't be able to really nail it without the Detection Diet.

Only the Detection Diet finds all your sensitivities. And until you get to that point, you won't know which Compleat Guides you'll need. That's why getting just one Compleat Guide won't work. You need access to all of the journals and guides in The Tuesday Club.

But there's something else to understand.

4. Who will help you? You'll need support
More than anything, we all need personal support. That's why we give you terrific member support as part of the package. All your queries and comments will be fielded and answered within 24 hours by our great team.

Now I hope you understand what we do.

My personal experience with food intolerance means The Tuesday Club was set up for people like me and you - by understanding our food intolerances, and maximising the foods we can enjoy safely.

What do you get in The Tuesday Club?
