What Causes Constipation?

Definition, Prevalence, Symptoms, Causes and Treatment

Constipation is difficulty evacuating waste from the body - defined as fewer than three bowel movements per week. Many doctors now favour the simple cure of dietary changes which reduce food toxins, rather than medication or surgical intervention.

The Solution for Constipation

The answer is to reduce food toxins with a LOW TOXIN DIET.

Prevalence of Constipation

  • One study puts the prevalence of constipation at 16% - with women a little more affected than men
  • Around 50 million Americans are affected by frequent or chronic constipation
  • In a Swedish study more than 2,000 people were surveyed about constipation with these results:
    • About 20% of all women considered themselves constipated
    • The use of laxatives increased with age
    • 22% and 10% of elderly women and men, respectively, used laxatives ... for at least every fourth toilet procedure.
  • In another study of over 4,000 babies less than two years old it was found that between 3% and 10% suffered from constipation.

Changes in the intestinal function like constipation are now linked to food toxins - or food intolerance (references below). So reducing food toxins in the diet brings relief.

Causes of Chronic Constipation

Lack of exercise and some medications are part of the problem. But most Constipation comes from eating foods which you cannot fully digest - (food toxins).

When only partial digestion happens - strange 'foreign' toxins are produced. These interfere with normal bodily processes and can cause, among other effects, inflammation and damage to bodily tissues. When the muscle motility of the small intestine is affected food waste cannot move through the gut as quickly as usual. Too much water is removed from the waste making it hard and lumpy leading to constipation.

If you get frequent constipation a LOW TOXIN DIET may bring good relief.

Types of Treatment for Constipation

Temporary relief treatment: You can use medications or supplements from the pharmacy for temporary relief. Some people choose to use 'Fibre' preparations or probiotics thinking that will help. But some even contain ingredients which cause Constipation in the first place. Unfortunately - few people ever realise food toxins could be to blame for constipation - and unfortunately it is not given high priority in medical schools - so many doctors are unaware.

Permanent Cure: Find the actual cause of your constipation - learn how to reduce food toxins with a low toxin diet. It's easy!

Member letters

'Hi again, I have come to the end of the elimination diet and I have proved without a shadow of a doubt that I DO have a food intolerance.  I don't expect my doctor to believe me as she hasn't been very helpful at all, just keeps putting it down to IBS....also thank you so much for very nearly curing a tremendous problem that I have had for over 20 years. Linda'

'I have done the journal and found to my surprise that after 56 years of being constipated (going once a week/fortnight from a young child) - I am going every day. It's a miracle AND I have been suffering from insomnia (thought to be hormone related) for 7 or 8 years and am now sleeping every night like a log.  I am extremely happy and want to thank you for your help.  My daughter had done the program and suggested I try it.  I am very glad I did.... my life has been turned around.  Thanks - Lesley : )'

  • Poor resistance to infection, mouth ulcers, candida (yeast infections), colds and 'flu
  • Anal pain or spasms, haemorrhoids
  • Tiredness, chronic fatigue, 'brain fog'

What is the cure for Constipation?

Simple - find the cause and remove it. Constipation doesn't need medications to be 'cured'. Research says it is usually the result of poisoning ... eating foods which contain toxins.

  • You will be 'cured' when you substitute those foods which contain the toxins -  A LOW TOXIN DIET.
  •
  • No drugs, treatments or surgical procedures are needed - just the right fresh foods

As you know - food intolerance is in your genes - and you cannot change those. Just like having brown eyes or freckles - you got your genes from your parents, grandparents and other ancestors. And if you have children – you have already passed on that same genetic material.

I think I might have food intolerance: What should I do?

Gluten is just one toxin that could be causing your symptoms. There are more than twenty common FOOD TOXINS – and they act together in different combinations to damage cells and provoke the immune system.
